Do you use analog (mini phono) or digital (spdif/optical) connections to output your sound? If you are using a digital output, scratch the sound card because 1s & 0s are the same no matter where they come from. If you use a digital output, take the money from the sound card and buy a better GPU. Asus normally includes great sound solutions on their boards. The maximus should be no exception.

I would go for these parts.

No need on sound card and 500GB SSD you'll be fine with Asus Z87-A, 1TB HDD and 120GB SSD for OS and apps :)

You can go cheaper and MUCH faster for gaming. Kept the case you chose, since that's personal lol
