Laptop fans not working after a clean, any advice?

Greetings friends!

I am an owner of an Alienware M17x R3. It may not be that great for gaming any-more, but I use it for my every-day general use, such as surfing the web and YouTube etc.

I have had it for the better part of 2.5 years and decided to take it in to get cleaned because the ans had gotten pretty loud. After getting it back, it appeared to work fine.

When I decided to play some ESO on it, it black-screened me. I immediately felt behind the laptop where the vents are and felt no heat (like there usually is), and felt that there was alot of heat on the internal part of the computer. I turned it over, and realised the fans were not turning. I immediately assumed that the technician guy missed connection or something.

I'm unable to take it back to that same shop, so I decided to get into it myself.

There are two fans. one at each back corner (behind the screen). What intrigues me is that BOTH of these are no longer running when the laptop is turned on. I checked the connections, and both fans are connected to their respective power source. The fact that both these fans are not running leads me to believe that there is something else at play here, as opposed to assuming that the fans are now broken. But that is, of course, a possibility.

This is what I'm confused about. Surelyboth fans wouldn't both decide to malfunction on the exact same time after they've previously been operating perfectly. Is there any kind of, fan control system in the BIOS that I can go and check to ensure that they're running?

Has anybody else ever had this kind of problem, or have any kind of advice on how to fix it?

Thanks all, much appreciated.
