I'm creating a cpu chain just to have around from an old amd processor. How my question is: How do you get the pins off it without hurting my self or the look of the processor? I know it's a waste, but it's a nice thing to have around. Fyi 30% of the pins on the processor are bent either way, so not a big waste of a processor.

You could probably end up breaking them off fairly easily, i would take a bench vise and clamp it onto the cpu heat spreaded then grab some steel wool and see if you can get enough force on the pins with them getting bound up in that to shear them off. The pins aren't very big and are made of fairly soft metals. You could use a dremmel with a grinder or solid polisher end if you need some more force, but i would wear a full face shield and ensure no one is around for that since the pins will go Everywhere!
