New build fx6300 question

So I finally got my new build finished and im having a problem....

Heres my build specs:

Windows 7 62bit
FX 6300 CPU
4GB Gskill ripjaws x 1600 ram
XFX R7 260x GPU
500w PSU
300gb wd hdd

So heres my problem. The temps on this cpu are all f'ed up. The bios says 38c idle but when I use hwmoniter and core temp it says like 8c idle.....when I run prime 95 the temps on both core and hw both max at about 47c. I dunno what the real temp is and I don't wanna end up burning up my new cpu. im really lost at this point.................

you should send me a copy of that new 62-bit Windows 7 - sounds cool :)

HWmonitor is infamous of giving wrong readings on some systems (I personally have never had problems however). Some people have reported even having minus temperatures or temperatures of the range of 200+ C which would be impossible. You should try the software for measuring temps that comes with your motherboard.
