Hi, just built my first rig :) Managed to do it all in one day so I'm quite pleased with myself. I have lurked on these forums which have been helpful for me gathering info, so thanks everyone!

I'm using an Akasa AK-955V2 CPU heatsink and Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste. My idle temps are about 35-42c ish and I've seen it go up to 66c when doing light gaming (Sims 3) and was just wondering whether these temps look normal or not. I will mention that I tried the line method AS suggest on their site but it didn't spread out properly so I just covered the heatsink and processor (spread out with a credit card) so I'm hoping it's ok! I actually have a i3 2367m in my laptop that runs rather hot at ~60c idle and it doesn't show any signs of overheating at this temp but I'm guessing laptop and desktop processors are different?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Those temps are acceptable for that cooler, you should be good enough:)
Plus the IHS on that chip is soldered on!
