Hello everyone,
My CPU cooler is the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus, which is pretty much identical to the 212 EVO if you're more familiar with that. Anyways, recently I have noticed some weird sounds coming from the fan on the 212, which is the one that came with the cooler itself. I am going to be getting a replacement fan soon, but before I order it, I wanted to clarify a few things.
First, I was going to just order the same fan that comes with the 212, the Cooler Master Blade Master 120 because it seems to have good reviews, specifications, and is cheap. Is this the best route for me to go in terms of getting a new fan for the 212?
Also, I was thinking (since the Blade Master 120 is only ~$11) that I would get 2 fans and mount them on the cooler in a push-pull configuration to get some cooler temperatures on my system. Even though my temperatures are already pretty good even with a semi-faulty fan (29C idle, 42-45C gaming, 50-55C on full throttle benchmarks on long durations), I figured why the heck not? Are there any drawbacks or reasons I shouldn't use 2 fans on the Hyper 212? If it is fine, is using 2 Blade Master 120's a good idea?
And now to my final question. If I do decide to get the two fans for push-pull, how exactly do I set them up besides the easy part of mounting both fans? My motherboard is the Asus M5A97 R2.0, which only has one CPU fan power plug, next to a case fan plug. You can take a look in this picture, it is on the very left edge of the motherboard in the photo, just above the CPU power connector, the middle of the three prongs. http://i1.minus.com/iYdyqAlmUUHm5.jpg
Also, this image is a little bit more clear. This time the three fan connections I was talking about are in the top middle of the picture.

Anyways, my question is, do I need any special software/hardware/cables to get the fans running properly in tandem, or can I just plug the second one in the CHA_FAN2 spot and expect for all to go swimmingly? I tried researching this topic on my own, but pretty much came up with nothing, except maybe something about a cable that takes the CPU_FAN connector spot and splits it into two. Would I need any of this stuff?
Thank you so much!
EDIT: I think I found the cable I read earlier, would I need this ( http://www.amazon.com/Link-Depot-3-Pin-Y-Cable-Splitter/dp/B000CD7V34 ) and would connect it to the CPU_FAN 4-pin connector?
