Some metallic part of the graphics card got scraped off (I think), during the installation. It is the part of the graphics card that gets inserted into the motherboard, the very tip of one of the metallic looking prongs got scraped off and no longer is pointy, it is now more of a rectangle shape. I know this might be vague but any replies will help.

It might cause connectivity problems. Try call up the company you bought the card from and get a new one if it doesn't work.

Which part exactly? Can you use paint or something to circle the area?

I cannot use paint because I'm on my phone but if you look at the picture its the goldish part on the right. And if you zoom on that you can see little individual metallic prongs. That is what scraped off. Only part of 1 though

don't worry about it. The "goldfish part" is just there to hold it in place. As long as you're not throwing the computer around, it should be alright, but know that EVGA might not accept it under warranty now. Some places are pretty strict.

That part is just to hold it in place on the motherboard, have you tried putting it in and powering on?

You can only know if its broke by actually trying it. It should not cause any other hardware to break, if it is broken, as if it doesn't work your system will ignore it or the graphics card will not turn on (see if the fans spin up).

EVGA is pretty nice with their warranty's if you don't want to try out the card or you find out its broken, just call them up, say its broken and they will give you an RMA code and all that to ship it back to them and get a new one.
