I'm trying to figure out if I can upgrade from an OEM install of Win7 Home Premium to Win7 Pro using Windows Anytime Upgrade. I built the PC myself and installed the OS from an OEM disc I bought off Newegg (Which I still have if I need it)

Tech Support from Microsoft said yes, but I have heard otherwise and figured this would be the best place to ask.

Thanks in advance!

I think they both have to be either OEM or Systembuilder. Check to see if the copy of Win7 HP you have on the computer right is OEM or Systembuilder and then check the Windows Anytime Upgrade or the Win7 Pro that comes with it.

That is an OEM disk so now you have to check if the version of Windows 7 Pro is also OEM.

But I can't do that yet because I haven't bought the Win7 Pro upgrade yet. I'm trying to upgrade using Windows Anytime Upgrade, and I don't think you get an actual disk just the license code.

Contact Microsoft if you can upgrade from an OEM disk using Windows Anytime Upgrade.
