when i installed windows 8.1 on my desktop, it is natural to install first the updates so i did just that. when i was checking updates i know i saw the update for nvidia geforce gt 220, thats why i know what driver to find.

i tried installing the updates bit by bit because when i tried installing it all at once, my desktop got stuck on the "getting windows ready" screen.

it was 2 days ago when i updated my desktop and since i already finished installing the necessary updates, i now checked the update for the nvidia and i cant find it. i used the windows update to search for necessary updates.

i looked at the device manager of my desktop and all that is listed there is "Intel(R) HD graphics". so i assumed that the nvidia is not detected. i also downloaded the driver installer for nvidia graphics cards to see if it can detect it but still no luck. any help will be much appreciated.

i tried removing the it and inserting it bak but when i looked again at the device manager, it is listed as 3d video controller.

Motherboad: P8H61-M LE (Asus i think)
Graphics Card: nvidia geforce gt 220 le

here is the screenshot of my update log when i saw the nvidia update. i canceled it then because my internet connection is so slow so i saved it for last...

uhm... when i saw your reply i was connecting a dvi-dvi cable from my monitor and the on-board graphics card, also i was connecting a vga-vga from the graphics card to my monitor... i accidentally shutted down my desktop and when it started again, i was curious because it tuned back to a low resolution view. i know i turned it back to the on-board video card before i accidentally turned it off... i went to the device manager to update the display adapters and was shocked when i noticed that the source of the monitor is the vga cable, which is connected to the graphics card...

anyway it looks like i wont be needing any solution afterall
but thanks anyway
