So, I have a Samsung monitor with a vga and hdmi option, my graphic card has all options(display port, hdmi, vga, dvi). I had planned to connect both with a high speed hdmi cable, but then came through with a display port to hdmi cable? Which one should i go for? My monitors prescribed refresh rate is 60hz - 81hz! Which cable would give me a max output? Also, if someone can suggest the best cable to connect an old VGA LCD.

Thank You.

Solution
Go with HDMI. It's always better to stick with a pure digital display signal. Funny your monitor doesn't come with DVI.

What monitor do you have?

Something like this will work for your old VGA monitor:

It is a Samsung monitor S22C350! Right now, i have cionnected to a vga to dvi converter. A Belkin HDMI cable would be fine right?

Thanks alot.
