Hello!
Im having an issue with frequent FPS drops in all games.
I've tried everything to make my PC work better, tested temperatures and other stuff.
Everything is OK.
So i suppose that mabye my 650W PSU is not powerfull enough to carry such a system:

  • GPU - X2 Nvidia GTX 660 (SLI mode)
    CPU - AMD FX 8150
    Motherboard - AsRock 970 Extreme 4
    RAM - 8GB(2x4) DDR3 Kingston Hyper Blu
    SSD hard drive (256 GB)
    Win 8.1

Please tell me your opinion and what would you suggest to do!
I'll be gratefull for your response.

P.S. My PC doesn't shut down or overheat,no matter what im doing.
CPU maximum temp while
prime95 test is 56 C.

Pretty sure 650W is enough for this setup. Although the unit's 12V rail might not be outputting the correct amount of power. Try testing the voltages if you have the equipment. I'm assuming you don't though, otherwise you would have already.

What brand is the PSU? Is the warranty still good on it?

What games are you playing and at what settings? Video drivers up to date? CPU/GPU overclocked at all?

Try with a single card setup vs SLI and see if one of the cards or the SLI configuration is affecting the FPS drops.

The PSU brand is Corsair so it seems to be a pretty good one.
I've tried Battlefield 4,Dayz,Arma2.
All games i tried were optimised.
Settings do not affect my FPS at all. There are the same FPS drops on minimum settings as they are on ultra ones.
Playing with a single card changes nothing, that's why i think SLI is not the problem.
All drivers are up to date and i did no overclocking.
Also i've unparked CPU cores and updated USEFI to the latest version.
I've expanded my virtual memory to 20 GB and successfully performed this command:
sc config NDU start=disabled to avoid RAM memory overloading.

I have no clue what to think because everything seems to be OK,but it isn't.
