Hello,

Just like the title says i am looking to pick the superior card.

From what i have read online the 780Ti Twin Frozr
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-gtx780ti...
Is the best single graphics card for the budget of £600 - $1000

But recentley a new card has came out with bigger memory and a higher clock
The MSI R9 290x Lightning
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/part/msi-video-card-r9290xli...
It looks very efficient but i dont want to try anything beta.

Since I'm not super rich i want to make a build from £1500/1600 - $2500/2700 and i want the best gpu that i can get.
I ahve around £500/600 left since i have already picked all my other parts.

Please just let me know anything you know about those 2 GPU's and which one do you think is better and would work better for gaming.

(NOTE - I am not talking about the R9 295 X2)

The GTX 780ti comes out slightly on top in performance, but if you have multiple/high resolution screens, I strongly suggest getting the R9 290X, due to it's higher Vram. If you game at 1080p with one screen, best to get the GTX 780Ti or save a bit and get the R9 290, you won't see much of a difference between the two.

I want to play on 1080p
One screen for gaming.

Im not sure if i understood you correctly but I am quite sure that the GTX is the more expensive one.

But thanks for a good answer.

Waiting for more opinions.

yes the GTX 780Ti would be more expensive, which may be a drawback to your overall decision.

If you're gaming at 1080p, you'll get similar performance from a R9 290 or a GTX 780, but for a whole lot less. There will only be a few FPS less then compared to the X/Ti, but nothing noticeable as the R9 290 and the 780 can max out anything at 1080p.

Now that i read your previous answer slowly i understood what you meant by save a bit and get, I thought the save part comes first :p

Just to be sure answer this simple question and you get picked as a solution

One screen , Full HD
Counter Strike Gloval Offensive

What cards gets me more fps

oh, i see what i did, sorry ;)

For any game at 1080p, your best option choice for GPU at the best price would be a R9 290, it has a better chance at maxing out games for longer of the GTX 780, Because of the extra Vram and higher memory bus, and will max out all games you listed. Obviously the GTX 780Ti or R9 290X does better, but not by a lot, there is no reason to get the X/Ti for the extra price, I cannot give reasoning that it is worth the extra.

I would seriously look at the Sapphire Tri-X R9 290, save yourself the money and you could get an SSD or something with your rig.

Samsung 840 EVO 500GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
NZXT Phantom (White) ATX Full Tower Case

nice build!

I can offer one suggestion, 1866Mhz ram runs best with Haswell processors due to the speed/CL ratio, it has the best performance benefit over any other speed. the faster the speed (Mhz) the faster the ram, the lower the Cas Latency (CL) the faster the ram, 2400Mhz tends to have a CL of 12, making it not the best, whilst 1866Mhz has a CL of 9, same as 1600MHz, making it a very good option for a hsawell CPU.

If you want to go all out, and want best performance, get the GTX 780Ti, you'll sure have bragging rights with 2880 cuda cores and a 336GB/s memory bandwidth, now that is something on paper, and does deliver in the real world, but has a cost.

Yeah, Tom's Hardware has taught me alot :p

It changed my build 3 times now ;]

Not the whole thing but parts of it are constantly changing because of things like you told me with ram that i had no clue.

I just thought that the bigger the mhz the better the ram never knew about any exceptions.

I love your CPU :]

it is a great CPU, i do heavy multitasking, so it is usually running at 70%+ most of the time.

Impressive

Do you play multiple games at one time or do you do design?

One more question if i may :p
I know you are a graphics guy but would u mind suggesting a good PSU for my build?

(Price Range £80/£120 - $130-$200)

I design mostly. i do 3D/2D/Programming and other things like gaming also, only one at a time.

Corsair HX750, an extremely good quality PSU with 80+ GOLD Certification, massive 7 years warranty and from one of the best suppliers, Corsair. This is something quality your looking at.
