Battery not charging

Good morning, I have recently had my power supply socket replaced at a tech centre in my laptop. I also got a new power supply and battery. However my laptop, a toshiba satellite l755d will only work on mains with my old battery as it continues to not charge either battery at all. Is there an easy fix?

make sure your new battery has the same specs as the old one (mAh / V ). aslo the new a/c adapter(power supply) must have the same specs in order to suffice. you have either bought a bigger battery or a less capable a/c adapter
