Hello.
My dell studio 1555' s motherboard is fried , so i'm looking at the possibility of replacing it with either a second hand working mb, or a new one . Both seem to be very hard to find at the moment.

I was wondering wether there are any upgrades that can be introduced in this laptop ( besides the ram and ssd options ). I remember reading somewhere that there may be more powerful processors that can be mounted on the same mb, for example. Does anyone have information on this subject ? thanks.

PS : i m looking at repairing the laptop for the moment, instead of replacing it , because i do rely on a PC for work and money is tight anyways.

quick ebay search turned up this. You need to keep the same board so it will fit inside the laptop case. Laptop motherboards don't have form factor like desktops do.

without knowing much about the board these are the options I came up with for a different cpu all have a max TDP of 35w and a 800mhz FSB

t6600
t6670
next options but not sure on, these have the same options as above but have more cache so not sure it they will work but I think they will. don't thing the catch matters is the FSB and Max TDP.
