I may have been a douche nozzle. I did some more googleing and found this thread pretty much a few times over (I really am tired) So sorry about that, but could some one clarify this for me? I'd hate to ruin a £380 card because I was a nab cake.
Morn... Afternoon all, I just took delivery of a very nice looking GTX780.
That reference cooler is just.. Coorrrrr.
My question is, I'm running a Corsair RM850 PSU, the "silent" fully modular jobby, and I was wondering how many PCI power cables I need to run to the 780. It needs 1 8pin and 1 6 pin PCI power cables, which will/can be supplied straight from the PSU. Could I run just one cable that splits into two 6+1 connectors? Or do I need to run 2 separate PCI cords from the PSU to the GPU? Would one cable carry enough ampage?
I've tried looking it up, but due to not getting any sleep last night (its now been about 32 awake) my brains turned to a pink mush and I just can't get my head around voltages/amps/gigajulies or what ever (I struggle with leccy stuff on a good day)
If some one could answer relatively quickly, like, after you've had a nice cup of tea or something, I'd throw in a few smilies and some more thank you's. I've been waiting 4 days for this "Next day delivery" >.<
