Hey all.

I am looking for an upgrade next month to replace my acer gd245hq monitor and need your advice.

I am currently looking at the Asus 24" VG248QE which fits my price range.

Can anybody tell me if this is a worthy monitor or is there something i should be looking at?

Another thing is the announcement of freesync. I've had my 290x for a few months now and was wondering if someone could briefly explain to me when we might see the appearance of freesync and how it works.

Will there be an option to install it from a kit like GSYNC users? what monitors will support it? Is it worth waiting for a supported monitor?

Thanks

The VG248QE is amazing, since you have a 290x I am assuming you get 100+ fps in games, so you will benefit from the 144hz refresh, just make sure you use the supplied DVI cable, don’t use HDMI because it doesn’t support 144hz. they do have G-sync DIY kits to install in that monitor, but G-sync only works with NVIDIA cards, AMD does not support G-sync. I don’t know enough about freesync to really say anything about it. =(

Overall you will not be disappointed with the VG248QE, its fast, smooth and the price is great vs BenQ 144hz monitors.
