How do top fans place against top water coolers.

I'm running a pretty simple closed water loop system right now. Back in the day, I was always led on about water cooling always being better than air. I know now that there are some really good air options out there. I was just wondering how the top of the line air cooler come up against the top of the line water coolers?

I just happened to stumble across it. At least we know whats the best heatsink out there.
