When I select the 1680x1050 (native) resolution for my screen, which is the recommended option for what monitor I have (Acer X223W 22"), my screen shifts to the left and I'm unable to return it to its original position without changing resolution. Right now, I'm forced to use 1440x900 to fill in my screen completely because 1680x1050 leaves a black strip on the right on my screen since everything is shifted to the left. I used the autoconfig button on my monitor as well as the horizontal adjustment feature, but those don't work. My monitor is connected via VGA with an adaptor.

I've been running this resolution ever since I first got this monitor (nearly 3 years ago), but yesterday while I was browsing videos on Youtube, my screen just decided to shift itself to the left.

My OS is Windows 7 64-bit. I ran a dxdiag test, but it appears that all my drivers and equipment are up to date.

I game a lot so this is obviously a big issue for me. I was about to buy a new monitor up until the point I realized it was a problem with the resolution and not my equipment.

Sounds like a GPU driver issue... Might want to remove and reinstall the drivers.

Would you mind explaining how I would go about doing that? I don't know much when it comes to this kinda stuff. All I know is that there's a lot of different GeForce drivers and I don't know which ones to install. I use a GT 660.

Just uninstalled and reinstalled my graphics driver but I still can't run 1680x1050.
