Here is my build - http://pcpartpicker.com/p/3pLr7

I built it in August and it was my first one; there are some parts I would have rather bought instead thinking back, but I'd like to fix that now.

- Getting a decent dedicated sound card; I plan on producing music and I need a card that can process audio with as least amount of latency as possible while delivering quality sound at the same time.

- Buying another large drive (2 tb) to install games/more applications as I'm running low on space and I'll use my 1 TB drive for backup storage.

- Upgrading my processor to something a bit more decent; I think the only route I can go is getting an FX-8350/20 or an FX-9XXX.

- I want to start playing games on a monitor with a higher refresh rate, maybe around 120 hz to 144 hz; what 1080p monitors can I consider with those higher refresh rates at around $200-$300?

Here are the options I'm debating over whether they're worth doing or not:

- SLI'ing my 760 which would result in me getting an SLI capable motherboard as well (I messed up on that part, first time) and buying another 760; or, I could get a larger card to replace it, like a 770/780.

- Getting another 4 GB stick of RAM, would that benefit much considering I multitask a bunch?

- Getting an aftermarket watercooler so I can overclock my CPU.

Any suggestions or other ideas? Any help would be great!

sound card, wish i could help but I've never delved into sound cards to know enough. but with the CPU the FX 6300 should still treat you well, i don't think its time to upgrade to an 8350 just yet (thats just my personal opinion). with the graphics cards it depends on if you want to dual monitor or not, regardless if you have the money for a 770 or a 780 i would go with that because those cards are very future proof (at least for a few more years). you don't need an extra 4 gigs of RAM as you will never use it...8 is plenty. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/BoJb heres a monitor i think would be good its 144 hz and in your price range. hope this helps by the way, best of luck

For music production, which software you will use, what functions you require and what is your budget for it ?
If you need soundcard just for digital audio processing (cubase software) or need also recording change options as well.

I use Ableton Live 9.x. I've had a FocusRite Scarlett8i2 for a couple of years. It gives me good performance but I don't perform live, just in my studio. Depending on your budget, you may want to go to one of the many music websites like Ableton, GearSlutz or the developer/software site for your DAW.
