how to partition this..

how do i partition a 1tb hdd for os x 10.9 in windows? i mean i know how to partition, but FAT32, NTFS... ?
i dont want to format the whole drive. thx

You will need to format the drive with the Apple DVD.

There is no option to format a drive or partition inside of Windows so that you could install OS X 10.9. The Mac uses a completely different file system (Mac OS Extended (Journaled) which is also known as HFS+). There may be third party software you could install to format the partition as a Mac partition but I'm not sure.
