Hi,
I want to build a new PC over the summer and wanted to know how it is. I want to use it for modern games, such as Titanfall, Skyrim, and ESO with decent graphics and a good fps rate, and also I want to use it for school work. However I cannot find a good GPU for no more than $175. I know this is not the greatest GPU for my build, but I cannot afford any more than this. Please help me out!

Processor: Intel i5 4670k ($220)
RAM: Corsair Vengeance Low Profile 8 GB ($80)
Motherboard: ASUS Z87 PLUS ($160)
GPU:
Hard Drive: WD Caviar Blue 1 TB ($60) Samsung 840 EVO 120 GB SSD($90)
Optical Drive: Asus 24x DVD-RW Serial-ATA Internal ($23)
Power Supply Unit: Corsair Builder Series CX 500 Watt ATX/EPS 80 PLUS ($50)
Heatsink Fan: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO ($35)
OS: Windows 7 ($100)
Case: NZXT Phantom 410 ($100)
Monitor:Asus MX239H, 23-Inch Full HD AH-IPS LED-backlit and Frameless Monitor ($200)

Solution
Without delving into Craiglist or Ebay the R9 270 is about as good as it's going to get for <>$170.

Just a couple of extra thoughts:
You could rebalance the budget, a non 'K' CPU and cheaper MB along with a less expensive case could free up enough cash to move up into GTX760/R9 280 territory, which will be a much nicer place to be.
OR...Drop the SSD, that will leave the rest of the build alone and still free up enough extra cash for a GTX760/R9 280.
Don't be too worried about the CX PSU, they're not terrible units, just not top class but this caught my eye: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817256061&ignorebbr=1

For that price, You can take a look at the following cards if they come within 175$..

you can go for the R9 270x... they are new and offer better hardware/peformance than nvidia at the same price..

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814131529R

or you can choose one from here..

http://pcpartpicker.com/parts/video-card/#c=154,147&sort=a8

however, you can still consider the following cards as well and pick the one you like and that costs least to you as their performance/output is similar..

Nvidia : GTX 580, 660, 660 Ti
AMD : HD 7870, R9 270, 270X

You can save a lot on your monitor..

go for this one.. 1080p HD screen.. and you will never regret buying this company.. I personally used them myself..

and divert the extra $$$ towards a nice PSU.. take this one..

as for the rest of your build, it's simply perfect..

and if you got any more $$$ left.. buy yourself a beer and relax in a couch.. :)
