Hi, I bought my laptop a few years ago, it came with Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller. This is the cable network adapter am i correct? I just called my isp to ask them what speed i was paying for. They told me 15 Mbps. (or 15 MBps? but i don't think so...) I was wondering if my adapter actually supports that speed They also told me they had a promotion, i got switch from TGV 15 (the one I have, 15 Mbps) to TGV 30 (i guess it should be 30 Mbps) for free so is it worth it with my Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller?
edit. i just went on scanmyspeed.com and got about 6Mbps download speed and about 4 Mbps upload speed. I know they are not meant to be the same, are my results normal?

1Gb/s. Is the fastest chipset normally found in recent desktop and laptops
Unless the switch or router also supports this standard it will probably run the network at 100 Mb/s These are theoretical maximum speeds
