Hard disk all of the sudden is absurdly small?

Hello,

I have a 320GB external hard disk that wouldn't load when connected via USB to my laptop. I couldn't acces it.
So I tried repairing it with a program 'TestDisk'. I did all the steps to make it accesible again, but now it says the disk is only 1,4GB of space and it's called a name it wasn't before: WinRE.
Thats displayed as my E drive, and there is another drife F, that says "Local Disk" that I can't acces... :(

How do I get my 320GB of space back, and how can I make the harddisk accesible so I can use it as backup?
Any help/ideas much appreciated.

That program used only 1.4 GB to create a partition on that disk and left the other 319 GB unused.

If you are good with computers I would suggest using GParted (Linux software) or any other utility to resize the partition on that hard disk and make it 320 GB, you can also change its name.

I have found this utility for Windows: http://www.easeus.com/partition-manager/epm-free.html
