I am from karnataka, india.. here we get land phone and internet signals mixed.. and we use a splitter.. this is not unusual.. the attached picture shows my current router and land phone setup

all connections are done with phone connecting wires.. i meant to say rj-45 jack has not been connected to anything..

currently i am on the ground floor and my desktop pc is not getting enough wifi signal strength.. what i want to know is, is there anything that acts like a splitter but doesnt separate internet and phone signals? i mean it should just duplicate the whole signal so if i put it it between a and b in that picture it should look something like this..

i would like to use another router and phone on the ground floor using another splitter..

now i wanted to know what do we call the thing 'b' in the second picture?

Thanks

You likely have DSL if you are using phone lines. You are only allowed 1 modem on the phone lines. You could I suppose get the ISP to install a second dsl line and use a different pair but I suspect that is not what you are asking since they will charge you for the second connection.

Unless your wire is cat5 in the walls there really is nothing you can do. If you have 4 pair of wires in the wall you could split off 2 pair to use as data and leave the other 2 pair for the phone. You would have to built some speical jacks with a rj11 on 1 pair and a rj45 on the other
