Hey. I'm about to buy a ThinkPad in the US. I would like to consult with you about from whom should I make this purchase, from Lenovo's site directly, of through a different vendor. I have some reasons to think it might be wiser to buy from a different vendor, in case you're wondering that.

The reason I'm starting to think it would be better to buy an original and complete ThinkPad somewhere else then Lenovo itself, is a computer offer I came across, is this link:
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1014801-REG/lenovo_20aq006hus_t440s_i7_4600u_8gb_256ssd_windows_7_windows_8.html

They offer here a T440s, the model I am planning on buying, but it seemed it's cheaper than in Lenovo's site itself. It is important to notice that the computer is upgraded in the offer, as following:
*i7 upgrade from the natural i5 that comes with the T440s
*an addition to 8gb over the normal 4gb RAM
*It is a T440s with a SSD, unlike the HDD version

In Lenovo's site, the basic price of the model is 1109$
Upgrading to i7 boosts it in 270$ to 1379$
Adding 4 gb more to the RAM adds up additional 80$ to 1459$
Switching to 256GB instead of 128GB SSD adds 150$ to 1609$.
The outside vendor asks for these specs only 1549$, a difference of 60$!

My question is, if this vendor has to buy it from Lenovo first, before selling it, how come isn't he losing money by getting less than spending? Are the computers built 100% by Lenovo, and not constructed using original part somewhere else? Can it effect negatively on anything like the warranty?

What else catches my eyes is that the specs that the vendor is offering are not even a possibility in Lenovo's site! The offered machine, for example, has a full HD IPS screen. In Lenovo's site there is no such option - you'll have to choose between a non IPS screen, or an FHD IPS screen, not just a full HD one. So how come these guys come with a full HD but no IPS option?

Thank you for helping me make the best decision, I want to spend my money wisely on this machine. This information will allow me to take the best decision!

Because he is buying 100 or 1000 at a time. Lenovo is giving him a bulk price, instead of the one-off price that you see.
He may only be paying Lenovo $1300-$1400 per unit.

Or it is a scam.
