Hi there folks,

So idk why but I totally forgot that there are fraud items out there..anyways I bought an asus 2gb 7770 from eBay recently ( unknown retailer..more specifically from a person in the US) for $75 + $15 for s&h so $90 total..but the ones on newegg and amazon are 130+!! So i am scared it might be a fake!! Is there anyway I can check if it's a legit one or not?

I checked the back of the box and there was this asus site so I went on it and the site's wordings was all in Taiwanese..I'm suspecting tawainese cuz of of the "TW" after the ".com" and some other legit reason I can't seem to remember at the top of my head ATM.

and I checked the back of the gpu and it had this "made in China" sticker on it.. :/  please help?

of course it's gonna be a lower price because it is used it may have been used for bitcoin mining so that's why it's cheap check the product number run gpu-z see if it is a 7770

I wouldn't buy it. You could get a box with a rock in it. Or you might get a video card that is broken. If it's too good to be true it probably is.

Hey longher,

don't worry about your card being fake. It's very very unlikely. It's normal the website on the box to be Taiwanese. Asus is a Taiwanese company. Also depends what market the specific card was targeted for it would have the respective website printed on the back. It's like Coca Cola in the UK would refer its customers to visit coca-cola.CO.UK and in the USA it would refer people to visit coca-cola.COM.

And all cards I've had were all made in China. This doesn't mean they were fake or anything like that.

As someone above suggested you can always install GPUz from here http://www.techpowerup.com/gpuz/ which will tell you exactly what model your GPU is.

And the whole idea buying stuff off eBay is to get them cheaper - so no surprise your card was cheaper.
