Hello, I am new here but have built in the past. Poor old systems way to tired (9800GTX / AM2 5200 + 3.100GHZ / M57SLI-S4)
All this new gear is making my head spin trying to work out what I need to buy. Could I please have some advise regarding what to get?

Main function is games

I would like to buy in a weeks time or sooner (8 May 2014)

I already have win 7 professional/mouse/keyboard/speakers/1920x1080 monitor

Sli upgrade in future would be nice option for longevity

Budget of £600-£800 GBP before p+p

Have been poking around on pcpartpicker for information

I like over-clocking stuff and once had a WC setup. I might do more WC in future with all my old Danger Den maze 4 blocks if I can make some new brackets. I used central heating pump and car heater core own build.

I could reuse my corsair TX650W PSU but would not mind getting a beefier modular one.

I already ordered a new case a, Corsair Carbide Series 200R, though I got it for slightly less

I prefer my systems to be quiet.

I have found a supply of Gainward Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 for £144.99 here in UK which seems to look ok.

An SSD for the O/S would be nice but I am reusing my 1TB Deskstar Sata 2

I have always had AMD/Nvidia builds in the past, but I am no fan boy. I just want it to look graphically good, be fast enough and last a long time before its obsolete.

Thank you in advance.

The cpu cooler I included would allow a bit of overclocking, if you wanted to OC a lot then you would need a better cooler.

The major difference between the fx 8320 and the i5s is the core performance. The i5 has 4 cores and the 8320 has 8 cores. The i5 per core performance is much better so the i5 generally performs better than the fx-8320 since very few games are programmed to take advantage of more than 4 cores

Solution

+1; I highly support Intel builds!
