Buzzing and hissing from PSU? Time to change 8 year psu?

Do you think I should change out my psu? I've had it for years now, but I've been getting some coil-whine from it lately. It's a thermaltake 550watt SLI ready psu I bought in 2006. It's feeding my 6870 XFX I bought in 2012 for my second build. What do you guys recommend? How do you stop it?

Most Thermaltake power supplies are very poor quality.

If the power supply fails it could damage your other components , power supplies degrade over time.

No need to panic and change the PSU - just monitor it more often and watch the voltages under load. If the voltages under load are within specs the PSU is fine.
