I recently installed the H110 and ran Prime95 for about an hour and ended up with an average of 70 °C on all cores, which seemed a little high on a i7-4930k clocked at default 3.4GHz.

After a while I realized that one of the fans that was plugged into the opt fan connecter on the X79 didn't work.
I switched the 2 fan connectors and got the same result with the other fan.

The fan thats plugged into that slot is not getting detected in the BIOS or AI Suite 3.

I thought about just putting a fan splitter on the normal CPU fan header for both radiator fans.
Is there any downside to that?

Because I'd rather pay like 10 bucks for a splitter than going through an annoying replacement process just becuase of one broken fan header that I can easily work around.

They will run at full speed but should work.

Use fan splitters , I used these ones on my HERO BUILD , pic a color.

Why didn't you post that in the first place? :D

But yeah those are perfect, I'll prolly get one and see how it works out.
