I went to to reinstall Windows 8 using my Windows 7 CD (I bought Windows 8 online) and during the reinstallation I accidentally turned off my computer. Now when I turn on my computer I get no display. When proceeding to turn off my computer then back on I'll hit hit F12, F8, ESC, or Delete and nothing happens. My friend says this is a motherboard issue because I cant access my BIOS. I have the ASUS 990FX R2.0 motherboard. Is this true, any suggestions?

I went to install Windows 7 on a Windows 8 computer. Once installation was completed I would have upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 8, so I thought. I thought I could have installed Windows 7, remove everything on my hard drive then upgrade to windows 8. I have a windows 7 CD and product key and I only have the Windows 8 product key. The main thing was to format my hard drive. I will be attempting this when I'm back home. Thanks for the reply though. :)

I'm confused. How can you install Windows 8 with a Windows 7 CD? Or did you buy the Upgrade version of Windows 8? If so, do you have a downloaded ISO or a set of disks?
Meanwhile, if you indeed installed Windows 7 then were in the process of upgrading to 8 when the 'accident' happened, then it's possible that you're stuck in some sort of Fast Startup Loop. In order to get back into BIOS try disconnecting your Hard Drive as Fast Startup relies on the contents of a Hiberfile which it won't be able to access with the drive disconnected. Then change your Boot order to Optical drive 1st and boot from Install disk. (If you have a W8 install disk you can clean install without using the Windows 7 disk)
If you still cannot access BIOS after removing the HDD, reset your CMOS by removing the battery for 30 secs. and try again.
