I recently bought a set of Logitech Z-323 2.1 speakers for my computer and up until now I have been using the rear audio jacks that are directly on my motherboard for my headset instead of the front jacks. With the purchase of these speakers I have just remembered why I didn't use the front jacks due to a consistent static no matter what headset/speakers I use.

I have looked around before and apparently there is some electrical interference or maybe a grounding issue that is affecting my front jacks. I am pretty sure this is the problem and was wondering what I can do to solve this issue.

PS I am willing to invest in a small sound card if that would be a more simple solution to trying to fix the grounding/static issue, and just in case my case model/mobo was possibly relevant I have included them here:

MOBO: Asus Sabertooth Z77
Case: Apevia X-trooper

Here's a few things to try (not sure if you've tried all or any of these, just throwing some suggestions out there):

1. Check to see if there is dust or fluff in the front audio port.
2. Check if the front audio cable is securely plugged into the front audio header on your motherboard.
3. Inspect the front audio cable that plugs into the motherboard for acute bends or breaks in the wires, and or outer shieldings.

If all that checks out, I can't see what the problem would be. Unless there is a faulty connection where the wires attach to the front port itself.

edit:
I once had static coming from my audio ports once and drivers fixed it. Can't see it being that though since your back panel ones work fine.

Thanks for the input, I'm gonna check for dust and the connection of the jacks now and check in afterwards if it worked
