i have an ATI Radeon HD 7400m Mobility
(Intel + AMD switchable) running Leshcats 14.2 Catalyst drivers.

the title says it all, if you've played the game Lord of The Rings : War in the north. i downloaded it a few days ago knowing its an old game but yeah. just wanted to try it.

some parts of the game are really playable, i even get 50 - 55fps sometimes but then theres this parts where it stutters and becomes unplayable specially in chapter 8 where my FPS commits suicide dropping from 45 - 1 fps. its annoying so i refrained from playing the game.

i made some research about it and dig around the forums, and the most common denominator that i found was that the game has issues with Radeon Cards, also people said from other forums that downgrading to the 12.6 Catalyst seems to fix the stuttering.

My question is, aside from downgrading, knowing that this issue was way back years ago, was a workaround or a remedy already been made? if yes, how?

secondly, if i have to downgrade to 12.6 catalyst? where can i get them? been searching google for hourse and leshcat doesnt have it either. thanks in advance!

im using the high performance settings in the switchable graphics options of catalyst control center and i added the game there so everytime i play its using the ATI card, plus im not using batteries im plugged in. i have my settings set to maximum performance when plugged in.

just a b940 intel 2.00GHz
4GB Ram
Radeon 7400m 1GB

not that good of a spec but then still, i could still play the game, even finished skyrim before with the lag fix in it running it at 30+ FPS, been reading in the forums that its an ati driver issue since the game doesnt have problems with nvidia users. was just wondering if the issue has been resolved already since im just playing an old game for the first time. even checked my temps everythings okay. its just that theres this parts of the game where it really is lagging but other stages its not. putting game video settings to minimum doesnt help either. so i can tell its a software issue with ati cards.

also i downloaded a 12.6 driver but i dont think its the mobility one since after i installed it theres no configure switchable graphics option, and when i open catalyst control center it says that there are no settings that can be configured. still looking for a Unifl Leshcat version of the 12.6

thats the thing, i also heard the updating the bios is most likely the solution for this but then my laptops is an MSIFX420 only not even a gaming one plus the manufacturers website download was still the same bios version that i currently have right now, the first thing i did actually was to look for the update of my bios. downloaded MSI's Live Update 5 and theres no update for the bios. but i updated all the other stuff that live update told me to update.

how do i see my MOBO's model? device manager doesnt see to show it.
