My NVIDIA Geforce GTX480 runs super hot

I've seem to notice a trend with these cards that they are running incredibly hot, and I'm becoming worried, my computer has black screened twice already while playing games. After monitoring my heat, and doing a little research, I saw my card gets to as high as 107°C while playing (No black screen at this point which means the card must have achieved higher temps at the other times). It scares me because the manufacturer says the max temp should be 100°C and websites say it can handle 105°C

I've taken it apart and dusted it meticulously, it seemed to help at times, but still spiked to 107°C,

Updated the drivers for it and have been monitoring since.

I do run two monitors off the card, so I know that it puts a lot of stress on the card and doesn't really allow it to idle ever, it averages 73°-76°C, while idling.

I don't know if this information is needed, but I downloaded MSI Afterburner to check the core clock and shader clock and voltage to see if anything was messed with.

Core Voltage is 1.038V
Core Clock is 700
Shader Clock is 1401
Memory Clock is 1848
and the Fan is on Auto.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated

Solution
Problem was solved, I purchased a Nvidia GTX 760, it now idles at 31°C, with both monitors plugged in, handling my games at about 60°C. Might not have been the most cost efficient solution, but I am happy.

since you saw a black screen(the gpu turns itself off to prevent damage to it,i know so because i ve once forgot to plug in the fan of my gpu after cleaning and it turned off the display)

its most likely overheating

check if the air flow in you cabinet is proper
disable overclocks if you have don't any.
take the rig apart set it out in the open and monitor the temps

Thank you for the response, I tried running my PC side panel off, elevated on a table, and my card still reached temperatures of 107°C. Can this be a card malfunction, or possibly I've worn the card into the ground by using two monitors with it for a year+?
