which connector to connect in XFX R HD 7870 2GB GDDR5?

last time when i plugged both 6 pin and 8 pin to my HD 7870 it showed smoke and it burnt , now i got a replacement , the card have a weird connectors for 6 and 8 PIN , i have a VS 650 , with 6+2 pin wire , which one should i connect?

thats how all conectors are 6+2 if your gpu requires a 6 pin you just plug in 6 pins if it requires 8 pins you have 2 aditional to plug in.you will conect 6 pin and 8 pin as the card requires.

oh, that is a big mistake, The 7870 only needs 2 6 pin connectors, and you have put an 8 pin and a 6 pin in, that is not what the card requires. Never use 8 pin to 8 pin, go 8 pin from PSU to 6 pin on GPU, or 6 pin from PSU to 6 pin on graphics card.

should i connect only six pin only? i mean should i leave the 6+2 wire?

you need 2 6pin connectors to porer the card.your power supply should provide you 2 8 pin (6+2)connectors if i am not mistaken.
you will connect the 6 and you will leave the 2 detached so you can connect 2 6 pins that thew gpu requires.
