About a month ago I bought a new PC with the following components:
CPU: i7 4770 @3.40GHz
GPU: Zotac GTX GeForce 770 AMP!
Mobo: Gigabyte H87M HD3
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1333MHz
PSU: 650W Corsair VS

When I connected the GPU to my 22" 1920x1080 monitor with a vga cable, the aspect ratio was very small leaving a black border on the left hand side. When I used the Nvidia control panel to re position the screen, it just moved the desktop out of the aspect ratio and cut off the sides of the image (It had already done this when I connected it) However, when I changed the VGA cable over for a HDMI, the border disappeared and the screen was being used fully. I would like to know if there is a way for me to solve this problem so I can use the HDMI to attach my second monitor rather than using it for my main.
Thanks.

Solution
Check in your monitor's OSD (on screen display menu). The problem is that VGA sends an analogue signal which has to be converted to a digital display image on the monitor itself. The digital hdmi signal is going to be better.
