Hey guys, I am looking forward to buy a 24/27 inch monitor that has 1ms response time which is perfect for online gaming. I will be connecting my PS4 with it. But I want my speakers to give me sound and not my monitor. I have 5.1 speakers and I want those speakers to give me the audio.
The monitor will be having 3.5 mm port.
So, I will be connecting the monitor to my PS4 via HDMI cable but how will I connect those 5.1 speakers so that I get the sound from the speakers ?

Hi and welcome to toms hardware!

Gaming monitor under $550, this is the best you'll get;

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014344

120Hz, 1ms, 27" 1080p, ultra fast gaming monitor.

For under $330, this is the best you'll get for gaming;

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824014376

144Hz, 1ms, 24", 1080p, ultra fast gaming monitor.

Being in mind, these are 120/144hz monitors, they can refresh the screen at a much faster rate then 60Hz screens, which are much cheaper, image movement is much more crisp and sharp at this rate, there is a noticeable difference.

If the monitor is only going to be used for the PS4 i wouldn't recommend getting a 120hz or higher. PS4 can not take advantage of the high refresh rates. I would keep looking in the 60hz range, there is no point on spending extra money on something you will not even be able to take advantage of.

I would look into a good IPS monitor @ 60hz, IPS monitors have much better color reproduction. here are some IPS monitors;

Here are a few TN panels, they are faster, and you can get a bigger screen for about the same price. But the colors will not be as good as the IPS monitors;

I dont have amplifier nor AV receiver , I have just speakers. Its IBall 5.1 Speakers. I got a woofer where all the 5 speakers are connected and then I connect the woofer to my pc for sound.
Now, the question is can I connect that speaker with my ps4 ?
Or do I need to buy 5.1 speakers that has amplifier ?
