I have recently created a factory/system recovery on my Samsung m3 external hard drive with 1.5tb, however after I created the factory recovery on my hard drive total memory went from 1.5tb to 50gb with the new files. Is there a way to get the memory back

You will need to be more specific about the method you used to create the recovery on your external hard drive, the exact procedure you used and any software involved in creating it.

If you did a full backup of your computer, and your computer has 1.5tb of data on it, your drive will be filled.

If you want to get the space back, delete your backup, although the smarter thing to do is to put aside your backup and get a new drive for other use.
