APU with r9 270x

Hey Guys, just looking for a bit of advise.

Received my new build.

MSI A88x-G45 FM2+ Motherboard
2x4gb Vengeance Pro
650W Cooler Master Gold Rated Modular PSU
MSI R9 270X 4GB TWIN FROZR Edition
Corsair Carbide SPEC-03 Aggressive Med Gaming Case (RED)

Since this is an FM2+ Motherboard. I want to get an AMD A8-6600K CPU.

Should I disable the igpu so it doesn't bottleneck the r9 270x? If so, how would I do this?

Why get an APU?

Then what CPU do you recommend I purchase for this motherboard? I would be playing games such as Battlefield 4, Titanfall etc...

Should have got AM3 board but I am not sure tbh... But if you were to get an APU get the AMD A10 7850K. Maybe go for intel CPU

I'm happy with the mobo as it is. Was maybe thinking of the Athlon II X4 760K

Great! And this would work fine with BF4? Since Mantle has been released I understand this takes the load off the CPU

Yes it can run it. But obviously the better the processor the better it will run (To some extent) Goes without saying though

Slightly annoyed I got the MSI A88x-G45 to be honest. Amazing looking board with great features! Only downside being the FM2+ socket.

I am in the same boat so I understand... I am using an AMD A10 7850K APU which needs a FM2+ board. Now I have my R9 270x I though I would upgrade my processor as well. So I am a little annoyed likewise :/ If I see a better CPU I will let you know but if you do, please let me know.

I certainly will. Would be good if AMD brought out the 6 `Core Vishera CPU's like they have for the AM3+ sockets. I reckon they will.

Or the 8 cores... That would be awesome! But on the bright side, Intel? Cost more but the cores preform better.

Yeh, colleague has the 4670k and it's amazing. Just will have to wait a while since I just bought all this AMD based hardware

Yeh was reading about that part. Just need a non APU 6-8 core FM2+ cpu and we'll be flying lol
