The current setup for mar Corsair 500R is:

Two 120mm front bottom, intake
One 200mm side, intake
One 120mm back top, exhaust
H100i on top (2x 120mm), intake
120mm bottom, intake

Now this is my first build and I don’t think this is optimised and maybe my H100i top fans should be reversed and become exhaust fans as the general rule is in from the bottom/front and out the top/back. However this seemed to say that the H100i should be an intake shown from the link.

I should also note that soon I will have an extra gigabyte HD 7950 making me have 2 so GPU cooling would be my first priority.
So…
1- What would be the optimal fan layout? Direction, positive or negative etc
2- Should I replace and of the stock 500R fans?
3- Would I require any more additional fans for my two gigabyte 7950 gpu.

My current Build:
Asrock Z77 extreme 4 Motherboard
I5-3570k OC to 4.4 Ghz
Gigabyte HD 7950 OC (core 1090Mhz, Memory 1480Mhz)
Corsair H100i Water cooler
8gb 1866Mhz Ram Patriot Viper 3
256SSD Samsung 840 + 2TB Seagate HDD (7200rpm)
Corsair HX750 Professional Series PSU
Corsair Carbide 500R Micro ATX Midi Tower White
Soon to have an additional gigabyte HD7950 :)

Thanks in advance!

Since you have an intake on bottom and side, you definitely need to flip the H100 fans to be exhaust. You have plenty of air flow, and there is such thing as too much positive pressure lol

The difference in temps between H100i intake and exhaust will be only a couple/few degrees, and with a 4.4 overclock, your rig should definitely be able to handle the extra couple degrees.

For the overall, I think everything else is set up in the optimal position, the side fan will be a big help to get some cool air to the GPUs, and push away the warm air.

How are your temps now? If they are good I would just reverse the top fans and make them exhaust.
Your 200mm side fan is still going to give you positive pressure which is what you want. And cool your GPU's.
If you want to change your fans the Corsair AF fans are really good and fairly quiet.

Ok thanks guys really appreciate it. I will flip the 2 120mm H100i fans around and see what my temps are when i have the second 7950 in. If the temps are high I might get an extra fan or 2. Just on the temps side currently I remember the max temp for my CPU is 80 degrees under 1.2v max (this is under prime) and Gpu around 77 degrees (this is under furmark).

p.s. Just wanted to say thanks again site is amazing and really helpful, I hope i can help other people on here as everyone's helped me :)
