'Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computers hardware may not support booting to this disk, ensure that the disks controller is enabled' so whenever I get to the part of installation where I partition my disk is where I get the little yellow question mark that says 'windows cannot be installed to this disk. (Show details) so I click show details and I get the above message, whenever I click new to make a new partition I get the error code 0x80004005. I've tried installing at least 10 times and I've noticed that every couple times my hd doesn't show that it's connected to any saga ports but whenever I get to partitioning part it shows my disk and tells me how much space I have,it says that I have 935.5 gb when it's a brand new 1 tb disk, is this weird? This is my first computer build so I'm a noob and I don't really know how to do too much. I've seen threads where other people enabled there disk controller and turned on S.M.A.R.T and it work but I can't find either of this things in my bios. I have a bio star ta970 and a WD 1tb black series 7200rpm.

Solution
Well the 1TB versus 935.5GB is explainable. When you buy a hard drive the capacity is listed in base 10, however in the computer world everything is base 2, so 1MB in decimal (or base 2) is 1048576 in decimal (or 2 to the power of 20). This has been an ongoing misunderstanding. So the value reported by the Windows installer is correct from a base 2 perspective.

As for your problem, have you tried another SATA cable. Also try another power connector and see if that works.

So I was gonna replace my saga cable but I only have two which I'm using in my PC so I replaced my power cord for the drive and I tried plugging my saga cables into my sata ports that say raid and that didn't work either s on I put the cables back to there original position

Don't use the RAID ports. If you are using your only two SATA cables, I assume one for the ODD and one for the HDD, try swapping them. Use the cable that is connecting the ODD for the HDD and vica versa. If the problem is the cable it is likely that the ODD will start acting up.

By the way, what motherboard are you using.
