HP Pavilion 500-223w
Processor: Intel Core i3-4130
RAM: 8gb
HD: 1 TB

my main concern is I'm not sure if my processor can handle my video card. I also am not sure if I would be able to upgrade the power supply as well

Video Card: Geforce GT 610

Yes gt610 will be supported in your Pc however it is a very bad graphics card for gaming and will give you poor performance in all but old games. If you intend to play new games then i suggest minimum gt640 gddr5 or even better gtx750.
