So I bought a CM hyper 212 evo. Started the pc up after changing it and its reading 15c or 60F or so. Its 70F in the office. Is that actually possible? It used to be at atleast 40-45c When idling and now its at 15-20c. Is this for real or is a sensor messed up?

What CPU/motherboard do you have? But not, it's not possible for an air cooler to achieve a temperature below that of ambient.

its an amd fx 6300 and the MSI 760gm-p23 (fx). That was just when it was sitting doing nothing. Being on the internet and watching netflix it is at 22c or 71F. I know originally the temp gauges were working as it would overheat right when it hit the temp for cutoff right at 55c. I could overheat it so it hits its safepoint again just to see if it hits 55 and slows itself.

What are you using to monitor the temperatures? The 760 series is known to read CPU temps wrong. The 6300 won't thermal throttle until 65-70 itself.

Im using HW moniter. So alright if it doesnt throttle till 65c then its off by 10c. Which is fine. I was just confused by the reading lol.

Yeah, that was my first thought. In HWMonitor, I believe you can setup an offset for HWMonitor to get the temps to what they are. Try using Speedfan and/or Piriform Speccy and see what they say.

reading is the exact same using Speedfan so its not a program issue.
