Hi Guys,

I'm trying to find the parts to make a reliable sub-$500 PC. This is my first PC and I have a rather tight budget. I am perfectly fine with playing games on medium settings as long as I get around 60 fps, so is it possible to lower the price even further? I'm a total newcomer to PC building, so could you guys take a look at my parts and let me know what I'm doing wrong?

A bit more expensive, but a much better build.

Yes, a decent (I stress the decent part as cx seires of psus are not very good, and I would rather see you go with a slightly more expensive build for quality reasons) 500w psu will run my build or any of the above, but for medium-high settings (not ultra) on 1080p for modern and future game a 270 (alot better than 260x or 7770) would be best, also am3+ socket will beat fm2+ any day.

The goal would be to have a medium graphics @ 720p @ 60 fps for most games.

@combine1237 If I had to make your build around $500, should I cheapen the graphics card because it wouldn't effect the quality of the build (just the quality of the graphics)? If I needed to choose a graphics card that was around $100 which one would you recommend?

Is it possible to download windows onto a mac/flashdrive and then install it into a newly build pc?
