Should I buy a new GFX Card?

Hello! I've been a long timer lurker here and finally decided to make my own account.

I recently built my new computer but the only thing that i didn't upgrade was my NVIDIA GeForce 560 TI Boost. With next gen just around the corner i want a card that can run everything maxed settings or close to it. I've been looking at the GTX 770 and that looks like a solid card but i heard somewhere that near the beginning of June NVIDIA is going to be selling the 800 series for desktop PC's. My budget is $250-$400. Would it be best to get a card right now or to wait for the 800 series to come out and wait for that price drop on the 700 series or even get an 800 series card if the price is right?

Solution
I wouldn't count on the price being "right" straight away on the new 800 series, anyway the 700 series cards could easily still run new games on max, I run a 770 and love it I play all my games on max settings without dropping below 60fps and for the price it is a really good card. I recommend getting either an ASUS or EVGA 770 as you know you're getting a good product, the Direct CU II cooling and EVGA's solution is superior compared to MSI etc and I personally think they make the best looking 770.
I would personally wait and see, because Maxwell, what the 800 series is based on, is going to be a bloody impressive chip. Also consider that it'll have a LOT lower power requirements, so will work better with an older, likely smaller power supply like what you have.

As long as you have 1.2 years + to wait, then you can wait for the 800 series. These new chips are in such high demand (You can blame all the new smartphones) that Nvidia and AMD cant make these cards in 2014, Q1 of 2015 would be the EARLIEST time, but expect Q2 of 2015. Also, consider how jacked up the prices will be and you will also want to look AMDs offering if they also can get there hands on the resources to make these chips.

I have a Seasonic 660 Platinum so I don't think power is an issue. I just want to run Wildstar, Titanfall, BF4, Dying Light, Tom Clancy's The Division, etc... Can the 770 do that? or would it be best for the 800 seires. Thanks in advance for all your help :D

Edit: I have not looked at too many AMD cards. I've just done A LOT of research into NVIDIA's cards. not really on the AMD cards.

Playing the wildstar beta right now on my 780 :)
a 770 can run all these games on high/ultra,

If you are looking a AMD card as well, the 280x is a rival for the 770.

Over all the 770s do better then the 280x's in gaming, use less power, and offer the typical Nvidia shadow play, phyx, and Watchdogs for free :)

Also these are my specs.
CPU: I7-4770k @ 3.5GHz
Motherboard: ASRock B85M-TIX
Memory: 16GB of Dual Channel DDR3
GFX Card: GTX 560 TI Boost
Powercore: Seasonic 660 Platinum.

Right now the 770 is looking to be the best option.

Hmmm.... How well does the 770 do with heat issues? im using a BitFenix Prodigy case and my 560 TI has had some issues when the side panel is on. I may just need to re arrange some cords but this is my first computer that I've built myself. I dont want to get it and only be able to play high end games with the side panel off like i do with my 560 TI right now.

The card I linked runs pretty cool, 40s or 50s C when in games. 60C while bench marking. Thats alot better then the 280x. That case is very small but a 770 should be fine along as there is nothing blocking the airflow into the card.

As long as you have airflow you are fine. I went with ASUS because their Direct CUII cooling solution is superior compared to other cards, EVGA also has have a good cooling solution plus both companies by far has the best customer service. the 560ti has a terrible heat solution, bigger cards and better cards actually have a cooling solution rather than a small inefficient fan.

If you have airflow it runs at like 28 idle and 50 under load. but I'm on about the Asus 770, much better than the PNY...

Awesome! Thanks so much for all your help :D i think ill probably end up getting an Asus or EVGA 770. Does anyone have experience with the 4GB version? If so would it be better to spend the extra money to get the 4GB one or stick with the 2GB?

2gb if your on a singular 1080 monitor, 4gb would be better for tri monitor system or 2k+ rez.
