Long story short, I have a legit copy of Windows 7. I was using it on my mac to run 1 program, I removed windows 7 from the mac and now I am building a pc. Can I legally still use the same cd key to install windows 7 on my build?

Any one done this before.
Install on pc/mac A
Removed from pc/mac A
Reinstall on pc B without any issues?

Very true. But since all we know from the OP is "a legit copy of Windows 7", we do not know what particular license it is, or how it was originally installed.

The question isn't can I use the license, it's can I legally use the license. This can be an important distinction. Your original response doesn't seem to address this question.

Again, very true.
@OP....what Windows 7 did you buy, and how was it installed?
Specific MS licensing terms can be found here:

It is infact a store bought copy IE I purchased a year after I owned this Mac. I believe it will be legal to use being that it is no longer being utilized on said machine and is basically being switched to an actual PC

Not necessarily. You could buy either a Retail, or OEM license. OEM being significantly cheaper.
However, it is licensed tot he first motherboard you install it on.
A Retail license, you can put on different hardware.

Depends on what you bought.

I think it's and a retail copy. It was purchased at staples. I also looked at the sticker and no where on it does it say "oem license" or anything similar. Any other way to check?
