Time to Upgrade My Phenom 955?

I'd like some advice on whether it's time to upgrade my trusty Phenom 955. I've had it since 2010 and it has served me well, but it seems like it might be time for something more current.

I'm a moderate gamer (Civ 5, Diablo 3, and the occasional FPS). I upgraded from a Radeon 5770 to a 7850 last year. I have 8 GB of RAM.

If I do upgrade, would an i5-4670K and a decent Z87 motherboard be a good choice? I don't know if I'll overclock, but it might be nice to have the option. I might also add a 250GB SSD.

Thoughts? Will I see a general performance increase besides just gaming? My budget is flexible, so feel free to offer suggestions. Thanks!

All around, better components will generally render a better experience for the user. Personally, I would try to wait a little bit. There are a few goodies coming out soon enough, the new Intel chipset...new Intel CPUs....new Nvidia cards, etc. On the topic of a ssd, a good ssd would be the Samsung 840 PRO or EVO. They are really well made and offer tremendous speeds!

If you want an upgrade, I would recommend you to wait a bit (not more than month) and see what new Z97 chipset motherboards and new "Haswell" refresh CPU will bring us.

If you want an upgrade now I would suggest you this build
