Hi.

Today I received my new Gigabyte 990 FXA UD3, Hyper 212 evo & 8350 fx cpu

Everything's hooked up, and I press the power button, and the 'fan led' turn's on for a split second, then off, and nothing boots. The PSU was working fine an hour ago on my FX 6300

Please help Not sure if I got a bad mobo, cpu, or user error. Thanks

SPECS:

GTX 760
16GB DDR3 Vengeance Ram
750W PSU XFX Pro
Coolermaster Evo 212
1TB Sata HDD Hiatich

I am at a complete loss. I KNOW my ram works, and my psu and gpu all work. I just dont know why this new build wont turn on. I have no clue if its the Mobo or the cpu or both. I have removed the ram, one at a time. I have removed the gpu and tried. This mobo has 2 4pin 12v connectors, where as my biostar 960+ had just 1, for my fx 6300. I have tried both, then one. Only thing that happens is the blue led of my fan will flicker for a second, then nothing. So confused

Does your motherboard turn on with FX-6300 CPU? if yes then you probably have DOA CPU in it doesn't boot with either CPU then you have DOA motherboard.

I had the fx6300 in my biostar. Not used it on this mobo. Hell, I dont even know if the 6300 would work in this mobo tbh

oK, I didnt think it would, because I was told my biostar 960g+ would not run the 8350. Ill try swapping the cpu and test.

Yes, Biostar 960G+ is an old motherboard that why it doesn't support FX-8350, try to boot your PC with FX-6300 and let us know if your system works or no :)

they have no names on it. One has a C, The PSU is a XFX Pro 750W It is the only spot they fit, but the mobo or cpu is dead as a door nail. Trying to figure out which one, then calling my creditcard company for a refund in the morning

Its working!!! Issue was user related. I removed everything triple checked all connections, my pc case doesnt match the color coding of the wires for the i/o power and hdd lights, I had some matching color, but they were not the correct spots, despite the matching colors. Thank you all! Issue is fixed. Issue was a case of "User Interface issue" =P

That's great, Happy gaming :)
