New 7870 or Used 7950

Hi, i want to spend around $200 AU for a graphics card.
At this mark i can get a brand new asus v2 7870, a used 7950 off ebay, or a r9 270.
I will only be gaming 1080P max, and will settle from med to high settings - with of course pref to high

The view of upgrading within 3yrs.
What would be my best option?

7950 is the best performing out of the lot. It's equivalent to a R9 280, better than a 270.

The 7950 is obviously the better card, however I never recommend buying used, especially from Ebay.
If you want to take the risk of a card with no warranty, no returns, and no guarantee on the condition its in the 7950 is better.

270x is my opinion.

The 7950 is a bit better than a 7870 which is the same as a R9 270.

You should be able to get a R2 270X though for about $200. Its the same as a 7950.

GTX 760 is the best, although that's $39 more.

Oh its $AUD! From pccg - a 270x is about $250. A 270 is about $220

You should get the current cards if you can afford them. So a 270 if possible.

But then I just bought 2 x gtx670's secondhand @$250 - one from eBay and the other from Gumtree
