Just purchased a RAIDMAX RX-1000AE 1000W ATX12V v2.3 / EPS12V and am not sure which power option to use on my M5A99FX Pro 2.0 motherboard. The motherboard takes a 8 pin power connector - is it an either or option. In the past I have only used 2x4 pin power connectors. Not sure about the EPS 1x8 pin. Both are hardwired into the semi modular power supply. Any help or guidance would be appreciated.

Thanks

Better use 1x8 pin EPS connector which your power supply comes equipped with. Still if you want to use 2x4 pin EPS power connector, that will work as well. But if you have the option of single 8 pin EPS, USE it. Cheers

It really doesn't make any difference. I would use the 8 pin though. The 4+4 connector could be used for a MB that does not require as much current for the CPU. (edit: where only one 4 pin would be used)

hi CyberGuru75
It will fine which ever connector you use for your 12v EPS , The 8pin sounds like the better option as you don't have to put the 2x4pin together into your board only 1 solid 8pin but at the end of the day either will work for you just fine.
