Hey there!

I'm on a strict budget to build a gaming rig, and I have managed to get the i5-4430 for only$100.
Now, the next step is the mobo.

Ok, so my budget for a mobo is max $100 (after mail in rebates, etc) ... and even that is a push.

--Another thing of note is that I prefer an atx mobo, not a micro.
--Also, I don't plan to overclock anything (at least for now).
--And finally, I'd like this mobo to be a bit futureproof .... as in I could still use it in the future, if I decide to get a stronger cpu like an i7.

So far I could find these 3 ...
MSI H87-G43 LGA 1150 Intel H87 ---------------------- $85 (after mir)
MSI Z87-G41 PC Mate LGA 1150 Intel Z87 ----------- $85 (after mir)
GIGABYTE GA-Z87-DS3H LGA 1150 Intel Z87 -------- $80 (after mir) (but on Frys.com)

I'm sure there are other good options, but I suck at finding mobos.
And I hope, there are other options (but still good) that are cheaper, so I can invest the saved money in other parts.

But in any case, how are the 3 above mobos?

Thanks and I appreciate all the help!

If you're still considering this, I too am a little hesitant about H81. They tend to be very stripped down boards feature-wise. If you're looking for budget boards, I'd get at least a B85 ( or H87 if you can afford it. ) And though you can't OC that CPU, the Z87 boards do tend to have the best feature sets.

One other question is why do you want a full ATX board? What do you need the slots/room for? Keep in mind if you want a second GPU down the road, you'll need Z87.

With all this in mind, the ASRock Z87M Extreme4 is usually around $100.

2 things ...

1. That is a micro ... I'd rather a full atx if available.
2. I'm kind of iffy on the H81 chipset.
I read that I should stay away from H81s becuase they are not that good and that they are not good for future upgrades too.
In addition, I read that instead, I should try to get an Z87 or H87.

Any thoughts?
